When the objective is clear, and there is a willingness to serve the society ,the path becomes easy. The consistent rains on Sunday 14th of July couldn’t stop our Rotarians to be present for our longest running service project taken up by the club for the past 30 years at Sevanand High School, Koradi.

The project started with  installation of  the interact club at 9 am. Swati Tembhane & Shubhangi Sontakewere were installed as the President and Secretary respectively. President Prashant Kale addressed the students in their very own language and impressed upon them that while the Rotary Club was ever willing to be involved, it was the students’ responsibility to work hard and sincerely reciprocate what the club did for them.

Note books, uniforms, stationary items were distributed to them. All the school children were distributed Parle G Biscuit packet. The community welfare committee also promised to renovate the toilets of the school which are in not so hygienic conditions. Sadhana Paliwal conducted a workshop on Rakhi making from old cut pieces loitering in most homes. A Four way test board was installed near the main office by our efficient Chairpersons: Rajeev Javery & Romesh Batra .

Paralally the medical committee took 50 dental checkups, 40 eye check ups and also rubella vaccination was given to almost 125 girls. Dr. Jerestine Watchmaker, Dr.Archana Jaiswal handled them all with the able support of  Mrs & Mr Rajan Bhatia, first lady  Smitha Kale and Anushka Kale. Our rural and urban health chairperson Dr.Shantala Bole and  Dr.Subhada Gade educated the girl students on adolescent health and sex education.

The green city committee distributed Neem seeds and planted saplings in the premises. The students were asked to nurture the seeds and hand over to Crazy Castle by 13thSeptember, where they would get discounts.

The rainy Sunday reminded us of our childhood as we were running in the muddy compound from one classroom to the other as the rain Gods wouldn’t stop pouring blessings on us.

With our semi wet attires we reached  Krishnam restaurant where we had sumptuous brunch! Mostly Rotarians were discussing the weather as the rains hadn’t stopped for the past 48 hours. The members were also discussing the ways in which we could further improve the condition of the school.

Such a mega project  would not have been possible without the dedication and efforts of our directors and chairpersons. Credit goes to Director Jatin Sampat, Chairperson Nisreen Maimoon (interact committee), Director Public Relations Sanjay Sethi, Chairperson: Shalini Gupta (Green city), Director Medical: Dr.Prashant Choudhary and his able chairpersons. Director service-2 (Medical & nonmedical) Rakhi Bhatia with her chairpersons: Rt.Ann Anushka Kale, Rt Ann Anita Jain, Rt Ann Vanita Shukul, Rt Ann Neerja Shukul, Rt Ann Ragini Sahu, Director Adminsitration-2 Rtn.Manjot Singh Kahai with his Chairperson Rtn.Pritesh Tank

Special thanks to our PP.Vijay Naidu, PP Shabbir Shakir, PP Rajan Bhatia, PP Chandru Shahani & Hon.Secretary Rtn.Sunil Bhatia for being our guiding force.
