Have a wonderful day my Rotary family,

Sorry missed the blog last week as was travelling. January is a month for marriages & festivals. During this week we have Lohri, Makarsankranti, Bhiu, Pongal, and with an awesome cold weather enjoy the festivities with family & friends.

January 8th was the only meeting I missed and the club had Senior Counsel of High Court Anand Jaiswal deliberating on an interesting subject.

Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) was organised in the sylvan surroundings of Starkey Resorts where 64 young Rotaractors spent two wonderful days of leadership training by trained faculties, group activities, camp fire & an evening of fun & camarderie. Enjoyed a lunch with them and the food and ambience was just terrific. Director Namita Sharma and her team of enthusiastic Chairpersons did a fantastic job in organising this RYLA. Credit also goes to trainers Mahendra Kamath & Rajendra Jaiswal for their relentless schedule of training sessions. The participants proudly proclaimed that they got to sleep only for 3-4 hours that night and wished they had not slept.

The club participated in the Inter Rotary Club Cricket match hosted by RC of Nagpur Downtown and our team of energetic cricketers won two matches but unfortunately could not win the title even though we had a winning team. It’s a different story why we did not win.

On Saturday 17th our club has organised “Disha” a career Guidance Camp catering to children from our Interact Schools where they will be empowered by various options open to them by Twenty faculty from various fields. Please join us at 9 am at Dhanwate National College, Across Ajni station.

Sunday 18th is National Immunisation Day and our club has been entrusted with handling the booths falling under NMC Zone 7 Satranjipura. Please try to there at 7 am and be involved for a cause. Do consult the circular for details.

This evening we have a prolific panel discussion on a most discussed  popular quote अच्छे दिन आने वाले थे, अच्छे दिन आये हैं क्या ? and the panelists are our own young knowledgeable rotarians who will keep you regaled with their thorough analysis of the Indian economic scene. Joint Sec Rina has asked me to keep under wrap the names of the panelists and wants it to be a surprise, though it will be moderated by well informed & spoken Rtn.Shiv Rao.

We have also invited Rtn.Dr.Sunita Dhote from Nagpur, who  has attempted a new Asia record of  “Longest Cycling Expedition-Female” dedicated to spread the awareness about the ‘Swachh Bharat’ mission.  She traveled on  cycle from Nagpur to Puducherry covering more than 1412 km, in total five states. She was conferred with Honorary Doctorate from World Record University at World Records University convocation was held in Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam on 22 November, 2014.

With all this happening is it not only fair that you attend the meeting this evening and have a good time. There are some good snacks also. So see you all at Chitnavis Centre.
