Idea & Objective: Environmental Awareness with City Development.

Gorewada Forest Reserve, with 2,000 hectares, is the largest forest area almost within the city. For city development, the Forest Development Corporation of Maharashtra (FDCM) proposes to develop a world-class natural habitat with Night Jungle Safari, Zoo, Aviary, etc., to preserve flora and fauna on one hand and promote tourism and thereby develop the city as an international destination on the other.

For the government it is imperative that the residents of the city participate in the development of the city without neglecting the protection of the environment. The Festival spans 7 days and celebrated as the wildlife week. All efforts are to encourage citizen involvement in environmental matters and appreciation of the benefits of a strong and healthy forest.

Daily programs were designed so that the city participates and while doing so appreciates the benefits of a healthy living environment due to afforestation and protection of flora and fauna.

  • A Marathon,
  • MTB Cycle race,
  • Nature walk,
  • Yoga& Meditation
  • Photo walk encouraged enthusiastic youngsters to capture the beauty of the forest.
  • Mowgli Parade where little children participated dressed as inhabitants of the forest bringing them closer to nature and imbibing in them the bond with nature.
