1. Bigwigs of RotaryThe Rotary club of Nagpur celebrated its 72nd Charter Nite on 13th December at ‘Woods’ , CP Club.

Meeting was called to order at 7:30 pm by President Rtn. Alok Goenka who welcomed District Governor and Assistant Governor  to the dias. Birthday and Anniversary greetings were given by the President to all concerned and all the Past Presidents and spouses were felicitated for their contributions and continued support to the club .

DG in his address , appreciated the  hard work done by our club. The Melghat project and also the project proposed, of Village Adoption. He invited all Rotarians to attend District conference in large numbers. Vote of thanks was proposed by Hon. Secretary Rtn.Manish Bhati

Roar of bikes of RAGS team announced the beginning of cultural evening….After a  hilarious struggle between President Goenka and PDG Sule , RAGS  journey was flagged off and they left to different Reaches of our country. Their first stop being the boisterous ,fun loving land of mauj & masti, Punjab. Here they enjoyed the famous Punjabi hospitality and Bhangra.

Travelling west they reached Gujarat, where they were had the fortune of listening Heera Ben talking about her India Modifing son. Gujarati glitter, colours and vibrancy was brought on stage  by excellent foot tapping dandia performance .

Cutting chai and heat in the TATA’s board room left no doubt in our voyageurs, that they had arrived in the power and glamorous world of Mumbai. But the TATA board could not go against arguments put forward by our RAGS team , and our very capable Rtn. Amitabh Sinha was decided as replacement for Cyrus Mistry.

The happy bikers travelled all the way to east just in time to see Durga Pooja celebrations and were enchanted by graceful Bengali ladies dancing and priests performing Poojo in front of Ma Durga.

Riding down south, RAGS landed up in Rajnikant studios where hunt was on for Thalaiva. And of course our bikers had to try leaving our audience in splits as they gave the auditions.

City of Charminar, it’s  lingo  and a scene from the night life brought the flavor of Hyderabad alive on stage. There was a very graceful dance performance by Shilpa Agrawal which nearly had RAGS team thrown out.

Our happy and merry band of brothers travelled safely back to Nagpur where the welcome team was waiting for them … ready-get-set to be clicked …banner and all. Not forgetting to notice that , one of the bikers had carried back more than his memories from Punjab..

A wonderful show, excellent performances, direction, planning, sounds ….. Rotary fellowship team has done it again..

Work hard – Party harder .. And so did Rotary Club of Nagpur ,with their spouses and families celebrated the 72nd Charter Night.
