Changing seasons & scenarios

A very good morning Rotary Club of Nagpur !

I have been out of connect since the last 9 days and it already seems like an eternity to me. There was no meeting and also no activities last week due to Diwali festival, and I felt that the Club has come to a total stop. So dear Rotarians & anns it’s time to get back into stream and let’s get involved in the club.

We all share the exuberance and cheer of our own Nagpurian Shri Devendra Fadnavis being elected as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra. Some of us who know him well and have dealt with him foresee a huge welcome change coming in this progressive state. There is an air of expectation and positiveness.

Last Friday 24th Oct the 20 Rotary clubs of Nagpur city got together on “World Polio Day” to symbolically burn the effigy of Polio virus. Mayor Praveen Datke and Municipal commissioner Shyam Wardhane were guests of honour for the celebrations where about 500 rotarians, annes & children cheered India being declared polio free.

Today is our meeting day ! We have a prolific & accomplished speaker Rtn Sanjay Arora speaking on an intriguing topic “Ek Maut ki Kahani”. I have heard about numerous “jeevan gathas” but this is something interesting. I have known Sanjay since a very long time and he delivers. There are many club issues which will be discussed, so would like you to be a part of the delberations.

Today is also WORLD THRIFT DAY, is it not the responsibility of every person to be thrift especially the nominated body of an organisation to safely oversee the finances. Please be prudent in spending your hard earned money.

Coming November will see the commencement of a number of major activities of the club, and will announce them in due course.

Hope to certainly see you this evening, it means a lot to the club.

Bharat Goenka
