A club assembly with a difference

Morning Rotarians,

Just when we were getting ready to welcome the Nagpur summer, nature decided to play an ugly game with all of us. Nagpur experienced a never seen before – heavy shower of hail storm, blanketing the entire city in white, sending temperature plummeting and destroying to a large extent our green cover and our beautiful gardens.

Now that most of our major activities are over, our Directors are taking a break. We had a couple of blood donation camps, the camps will continue till the end of the term.

There is a statutory obligation on every club to conduct at least four club assemblies during the year, preferably one each every quarter. Normally the CLUB ASSEMBLY is conducted by our club on a Sunday morning inviting the Board, Past Presidents and the Chairpersons of various committees, where the Directors & CPs present their reports. This time around the Board felt that why not have an open house where all the Rotarians and their spouses can also be a part of this normally closed door event. I sensed that the Board members seemed relieved that their precious Sunday morning was saved. So here we are, with a different Club Assembly, where all Directors will present their report for the events of the past three months along with their plans for the last quarter of the Rotary year 14-15. Asst Governor Dr Vinay Tule would be in the chair to give his expert opinion on the functioning of the club.

So be a part of the event today, and hope to see you all this evening at Chitnavis Centre, and yes I was informed that the Fellowship during meeting will also be different and amazing. Special effort is being put in by our caterer Rakhi Ashar.
