Rotary Youth Leadership Awards ( RYLA ) is a program by Rotary International that is designed to inculcate leadership qualities in youth. It is to educate them about ethics ,peace & friendship something which Rotary stands for. These qualities help make better citizens world over. This year the theme for RYLA was “ Be a Tycoon not a spoon “ which focused in helping the young generation to develop leadership confidence in various life situations. A two day programme was conducted on 16th & 17th January 2016. A record breaking 86 Rotaractors from 10 colleges participated in RYLA, the programme was inaugurated by Dist Governor. Dr. Nikhil Kibe along with first lady Aarti Kibe, Dist Sect. Vijay naidu,Club president Khushnoor Chugh and Club secretary Parag Paranjpe.

The ball was set rolling by PDG Prakash Sesh who gave the children an excellent insight on how to inculcate the curiosity in ourselves. The reins of the programme were then handed over to Rtn Mahendra Kamath and Rtn Rajendra jaiswal who had pre-designed a programme especially to bring out the leadership quality of the youth. The programme consisted of several sessions such as ‘creating your future ‘, ‘thinking out of the box’ , ‘leadership in action’ ‘self analysis’ and ‘ team building’ which help in transforming average and shy teenagers into budding leaders. In the evening, a cultural show was put up by youngsters where they performed spoofs on various popular films to showcase their acting ability which was followed by dinner and DJ, this lasted till early morning. The next morning started with a healthy workout of zumba and the first session after breakfast was conducted by Mukesh Asher, a popular trainer who guided the children on ways to lead and build our confidence. Students were seen shedding their shyness and interacting actively with the trainer.

Next were the elections. Proper Elections were conducted to choose the leader of leader of the entire summit. The tycoon for 2016 was won by Rotaractor Sachet Bhanudas. The venue of Bhonsale Farms, amist beautiful garden landscapes and a lake was also a feather in the cap by the organizing committee and was most appreciated by one and all. Needless to say the program was a resounding success all because of the exceptional hard work and able leadership of the Director Raj Shah alongwith Rtn Mahendra Kamath and Rtn Rajendra Jaiswal, Rotaract chairpersons Manish Agrawal , Zaheer Akolawala ,Shefali shah, Shweta Singh, RYLA chairpersons Rtn Madhavi Naidu and Rtn Mayank Jain who ensured that every little detail was in place and taken care of, so that the programme ran smoothly.
