Inter school Interact Debate Competition

Debate is one of the academic activities that gives students a creative room to express what

they think.The length and breadth of knowledge and confidence that they gain through this is

simply unparalleled.The inter school interact debate competition was held on 1st Feb. 2016 at

St. Ursula School auditorium.Students of 5 different schools, Center point school Katol Road,

B.V.M school Civil lines, Modern school, St. Ursula school, South Point school Hanuman Nagar,

participated in the event.

The event started with the welcome of the guests, judges and students, compered by

Vandana Agrawal.President Khushnoor Chugh spoke a few motivational words to the students.

The competition then took a very energetic form when the reins were handed over to our

very own PP Rtn Shabbir Shakir, who brought out the best in all the students with his unique

style of anchoring the competition.

The topic for the elimination round was “Right ways are not the only ways to set things

right”.BVM, Centre Point and South Point students qualified for the final round and exhibited

their debating skills over another intriguing topic, “Democracy is the Government of the

feeble, by THE EVIL, FOR THE EVIL”.

The esteemed judges for the event were, Rtn. Rina Sinha, Rtn. Durriya Akolawala and Rtn

Kanchan Naidu.The participants armed with statistics and data, made their arguments more

emphatic with their righteous facial expressions, body movements and gestures, making it all

the more difficult for the judges to select the winner.

The winners were finally declared by the judges who were as follows:Individual Best speaker

winner: Agnidev Bhattacharyya of class 9th from Center Point school Katol road.Runners up:

Akanksha Mishra of class 9th from B.V.M Civil lines.Centre Point school, Katol road, won the

competition and the Rolling Trophy. Manisha Agrawal gave the Vote of Thanks.

Hon’able Secretary Parag Paranjpe, Director Raj Shah, Jumana Shakir, Vandana Agrawal,

Manisha Agrawal, Rakhi Bhatia and many others contributed for the success of the event.
